This R107 450SL was first registered on the 22nd of February 1980 by Mercedes main agents, Prestage of Birmingham. It was specified with the attractive combination of Silver Blue metallic with a matching hard top, navy blue hood and contrasting Mushroom (beige) leather interior. In addition it was optioned with alloy wheels, air conditioning, headlamp wipers, rear seats and electric windows. It would certainly have been a very expensive car.
Thirty-eight years later, this SL remains a very attractive car. It is on the road and has recently passed its MoT, which runs until the end of January 2019. In total only 93k miles have been covered from new.
As you can see from the photos, the car is original, complete with the hard top, and with good leather and woodwork inside.
All original books and manuals come with the car, along with the datacard, service book and a folder full of old MoT certificates and service receipts. HPI clear, with certificate.
This SL is an ideal project for an enthusiast who is looking for a car to restore and improve, but one that can be used and enjoyed in the forthcoming summer. Being a high specification SL with the largest engine and leather trim, it is certainly the perfect basis for improvement.
