This beautiful 300SL is in a particularly attractive and desirable specification being a facelift model finished in arguably the best colour combination of Nautic Blue metallic with cream leather interior.
First registered on the first of August 1987 by John Weir Mercedes of Grangemouth, this 300SL was specified with cream leather, rear seats, cruise control and outside temperature gauge. The folding roof is in navy blue to match and it comes with the factory hard top.
This SL has a full service history with twenty stamps, predominantly from Mercedes main dealers, in its service book. The mileage today stands at 144,932 miles. HPI clear with certificate.
Recently over £15,000 has been spent on restoration work. This included a body rebuild with genuine Mercedes panels and a complete repaint. The bulkhead was inspected and found to be excellent and original. A new hood has been fitted and the interior has been treated to new carpets, and the seats and door cards have been retrimmed. The original wheels have been refurbished and shod with new Bridgestone tyres all round.
Mechanically the car has benefited from a thorough service, suspension rebuild, brake overhaul and a new exhaust system. All receipts have been retained and in the car’s file.
Thanks to this recent expenditure, this SL is in beautiful condition with no corrosion and drives very well indeed. With a complete history too it represents a very attractive late R107 SL at a very sensible price.
