This late, six-cylinder 124 estate is a great project for the enthusiast who is looking for a worthwhile example of these great cars.
Finished in one of the most desirable colours, Azurite Blue metallic, with grey cloth interior. It has the 2.8-litre straight-six with an automatic gearbox, eight-hole alloys and seven seats.
Three former keepers, the last enthusiast owner bought it in 2011 from a Mercedes specialist and has used it on a daily basis, touring Switzerland early this year. It has 21 stamps in the service book, almost all from Mercedes main dealers and has covered a total of 215k miles but has been fantastically maintained. There is a huge folder of bills, again mainly from Mercedes, that shows how much has been spent in recent years thoroughly maintaining it. The top engine wiring harness has been replaced by Mercedes recently too.
As the photos show the interior is in immaculate condition with no wear. Desirable seven seat option.
The body is reasonable, but up close up has some marks and rust bubbles on the front wings. The wheels have some marks and a couple of the tyres will need replacing soon.
The car runs very well with great oil pressure but is in need of a few jobs doing. The rear suspension spheres need replacing and the jacking points and a spot on the offside rear floor could do with a bit of welding.
HPI clear and the MoT runs until July 2019.
As this is a desirable car with a excellent history and a superb interior, it is a great project with lots of potential that can be driven away.
