A fantastic restoration project for the enthusiast who fancies returning one of these elegant coupés to its former glory.
This 123 Coupé is the desirable 280 version with four-speed automatic gearbox, finished in Diamond Blue metallic with blue cloth interior.
The car is running and driving, and until recently was in use on a regular basis. Crucially, the car has recently had £7,303.32 spent on mechanical refurbishment at a well-known specialist. This work included new brakes, new Dunlop tyres, new balljoints, new axle oil seals, new fuel lines, new water pump and thermostat housing, new radiator. The sunroof seals were replaced and drain holes repaired along with the window seals. All in addition to a full service, including the gearbox.
The car now needs bodywork and interior. The body is fundamentally solid underneath but it requires repairs in the usual places – wheel arches, wings, sills etc. The interior has wear to the driver’s seat and some other areas of trim that require attention. More immediately, the EGR valve on the exhaust manifold has come adrift resulting in an exhaust blow.
This car does not have any books but it has old MoTs and all the invoices from the £7,300 recently spent. The MoT has just expired.
This will make a great project for the enthusiast with the requisite skills as it’s the right car in great colours and, thanks to the substantial recent expenditure, much of the mechanical side of things has already been covered.
