An honest, everyday example of the ever-popular 124 estate. We have put 7000 miles on this estate since November and it has proved a reliable, faithful workhorse.
Finished in Polar White with grey cloth interior. It has the seven seat option, automatic transmission and eight-hole alloy wheels.
This estate was owned by the same lady since it was three months old when she purchased it from MB dealer, Rybrook of Oxfordshire, until November 2017 – nearly 22 years. Since November we have used the car almost every day.
All books and manuals come with the car along with a large folder of service history. There is one remote key and several spare normal keys. The mileage today stands at 168k miles.
It would be fair to say that the car is starting to look a little scruffy, with the usual assortment of dings, chips and scuffs. The interior is generally good with the exception of the usual driver’s seat wear (still perfectly comfortable).
We should also mention that the car is registered as Cat D on HPI. The previous owner hit a deer in 2006 (fairly common around here) damaging the bonnet and headlamps, which was repaired. No structural damage.
On the plus side this estate drives really well, rides beautifully and is an extremely comfortable place to rack up the miles. Perfect oil pressure and temperature readings, uses no oil or water, smooth gearbox and a silent differential.
Recently we have serviced the engine, replaced the front lower ball joints, thermostat and centre exhaust box. In recent years it has had a new battery and rear silencer too. Good tyres all round. MoT until November.
A cheap, usable 124 estate that’s ready to go wherever you point it!
