This 1975 350SLC is finished in Astral Silver with blue leather interior. It was supplied new in Spain, so is left-hand drive, and quite remarkably has had just two owners and just 98k KM from new.
Even more unusually, it is equipped with a four-speed manual gearbox coupled to its 3.5-litre V8 engine.
Launched in 1971, the SLC was intended to continue the tradition of the W111, in providing a high-end coupé, through the seventies. Unusually the SLC was based on the SL, rather than the S-Class as before with the W111 and after with the C126 SEC.
Built in ’75 and first registered to Enrico Lombardo in January 1976 in Madrid, the car remained in Spain (Madrid and Malaga) when it passed to its second British owner then came to London and registered over here in 1996.
The total mileage covered is 98,882km, with only 20k KM covered in the last 21 years.
The car has all its original books/manuals and documentation, extensive history and old MoTs. In more recent years £15k has been invested in the car’s upkeep – the body was repainted, the seats retrimmed, the window rubbers replaced and a new exhaust has been fitted.
Having been in the warm climate of Spain, then garaged in London the body is in fantastic original condition and free from the usual corrosion that affects these cars. The chrome is excellent too.
The interior is in good order, benefiting from retrimmed seats and a Becker Mexico stereo.
The engine runs beautifully and works well with the slick manual gearbox. On the road it drives very well, commensurate with its low mileage.
Please note that the registration number shown does not come with the car, it will be sold with an age-related number.
In summary, this is a very unusual car – low owners and low mileage, beautifully preserved and cared for, and equipped with the rare combination of a V8 engine and manual transmission. If you’re looking for such a car it would be hard to find another.
