First Registered: 01/09/1990

Make: Mercedes-Benz

Model: C126 560SEC

Colour: Astral Silver

Interior:  Grey leather

Odometer: 103,209 Miles

An outstanding example of one of Mercedes’ great coupés, the 560SEC. Winner of ‘Best SEC’ at the 2017 Mercedes-Benz Club SEC Day, and second place in 2018.

Finished in Astral Silver with grey leather, it is fully equipped as all 560s were as standard, plus the optional driver’s airbag, heated seats and a Becker Mexico stereo.

Supplied new by Robinsons Autostar Garage Ltd, the Mercedes main dealer in Norwich, this SEC has had four owners from new and covered 103,209 miles. The last owner bought the car in 2002 (at 81k miles), having built a garage specifically for it and treasured the car using it only for special occasions during his ownership of 16 years.

All original books and manuals come with the car along with a Full Service History comprising of 20 stamps in the service book. The first 14 by the supplying main dealer, then by independent MB specialists.
HPI clear with certificate and the cherished number plate comes with the car.

As you might expect having won such awards at the MB Club SEC day, the condition of this 560 is quite superb. The body is exceptional with beautiful Astral Silver paintwork and unmarked bumper chromes and brightwork. Importantly it has none of the usual SEC corrosion. Thanks to a lifetime of garaging even the panel under the rear window is original and corrosion free. The front and rear screens are original with no delamination and still wear their ‘Robinsons’ dealer stickers.

The interior is similarly superb and completely original with unmarked, soft leather, dark, rich walnut trim, unfaded orange instrument needles, original ribbed over-mats and Becker stereo.

The driving experience mirrors the car’s condition. We have driven many SECs and this example demonstrates how they should drive – as tight and crisp as they come.

Finding truly excellent C126 SEC coupés of any variant is quite a challenge today, but to find a 560 – the model everyone quite rightly wants thanks to its fabulous performance – in such superb, unmolested order as this example, with long term ownership, sensible mileage and great provenance, offers a tremendous opportunity for anyone considering owning one of Mercedes’ icons of the eighties.
