The earliest iteration of the SLK was the first small sports Mercedes roadster since the coveted 190SL of the fifties. Combined with pretty styling (the first being the prettiest) and a clever electric folding roof, the R170 is a sure-fire modern classic.
This 1999 SLK 230 Kompressor has had just one owner from new and covered just 34k miles. It has a Full Service History all carried out by MB main dealers and latterly one well-respected specialist.
The SLK is finished in the striking combination of Brilliant Silver with red and black leather interior. It has the usual specification of supercharged 230 engine with five-speed automatic, air conditioning and cruise control.
Since it was supplied new by Speeds of Stratford, the sole owners of this SLK have looked after it like a baby. It has always been garaged and only ever used and taxed in summer months, which goes some way to explaining its incredible condition.
Quite simply, this SLK is the best we have ever seen. Its original paintwork is unmarked. The original diamond cut wheels are superb and wearing matching, recent Continental tyres all round.
The interior is, quite literally, as new. There is no wear anywhere, even the usually vulnerable dashboard coating is perfect.
As you might expect on a car of this calibre, on the road this SLK drives beautifully, with all the crispness of a low mileage, beautifully maintained car, and all accessories work as they should.
With the car comes all the original keys with supplying dealer key fob. All books/manuals, tools and first aid kit; even the original tailored SLK luggage.
In short, if you’re looking for the best early SLK going, this is undoubtedly the car for you. A car with concours potential. Shortly to be featured on the front cover of Mercedes Enthusiast Magazine.
